Print List item

I've taken over a SharePoint 2010 site from someone that has left and kind of learning as I go.  I have this list that a user says he was able to click the drop-down and print the job from the drop-down.  Now, I know I can add a custom action in SharePoint Designer and insert 'Print' with a 'Navigate to URL' option of "javascript:window.print()".  Problem is, that prints the ENTIRE list, not just the "contents" of the one particular list item.

As a workaround, I did do a custom action on the Display Form of "javascript:window.print()".  That way, the user can click on the job and THEN click on print.  So my question is....is that the fix?  Or is there a way to print the job (or list item) from the drop-down menu instead of printing the entire list?

Yeah, I had already seen that post.  Thing is, step 2 says "Site Actions -> Site Settings, I don't have a Site Settings under Site Actions.  Besides, I've already added that functionality and it does the same thing, prints the entire list, not just one item's contents in the list.  Thanks anyway.

Hi texaminn,

From your description, you  don't have a Site Settings under Site Actions.

Make sure you have the full control permission on the site.
