Primary Site recovery not possible due to missing permissions on a Full Administrator
Hello guys,

we are currently trying to recover one of our SCCM 2012R2 SP1 environments.
We've made a full backup by using the integrated SCCM backup tasks.

Our infrastructure consists out of a Central Administration Site and one Primary Site.
The recovery of the CAS did work without any issue apparently. It's up and running although it's currently in "Read-Only Mode". The database instance of the CAS is also working properly. Now we are running in the following issue:

When trying to recover the primary site the setup reaches the step "Site Recovery Information". Our CAS is pre-entered in one of those fields and can't be removed. Everything seems fine, we want to continue but after pressing "Next" it says:

Unable to continue. Please run setup with a user account that is designated as a Configuration Manager Full Administrator or Infrastructure Admin

We are using the same user which we've used to recover the CAS. This user is also a Full Administrator as well as a Infrastructure Administrator in SCCM. Security Scopes: "All instances of the objects that are related to the assigned security roles".
Unfortunately I'm not active enough to have my account verified thus I can't provide screenshots.

Anyone wants to throw in an idea how we could try to fix this?  Thank you in advance!

Hi,

Have you tried to use a Configuration Manage Full Administrator? Still same issue?

Hi Joyce,

we've tried it with  a few different users. All of them got the "Full Administrator" role assigned. Is there any difference between the "Full Administrator" role and a "Configuration Manager Full Administrator"? If yes, how can we get a "Configuration Manager Full Administrator"?

Thank you.

Best Regards,
Feyh
