Preview Tab Missing in SSRS 2008 R2
I have a co-worker who, while building a report in BIDS 2008 R2, cannot see the Design or Preview tabs. I pulled his project from source control and opened it up on my machine and I can see the tabs just fine. As another test, we tried creating a brand new Report Server project on his machine and the tabs do not appear here either (just a blank space). This leads to me think it may be an issue with his BIDS install. We both are running the same version of BIDS (Version 9.0.30729.4462 QFE). Does anyone have ideas on what could be the issue, or additional troubleshooting steps I should check? Thanks. Matt

Hi Matt Ring, From the message posted, I suggest you to reinstall the BIDS for SSRS 2008 R2. This curious phenomenon is usally caused by unstable environments and installation defects. Thanks, LolaPlease remember to mark the replies as answers if they help.

Thanks Lola. For kicks and giggles, we're going to try to reset settings first. devenv /ResetSettings If that doesn't work, we'll try and re-install and see if that takes care of the issue. Thanks!

Well, unfortunately (or fortunately) the problem fixed itself the next day without any action on our end. As far as I can tell, the developer closed and re-opened the program (even though we tried this multiple times before) and that resolved it. I think there is more that we're missing, but that's all I can gather.
