Prestge OSD failing at Installing Operating System step after shutdown

I am testing a prestage task sequence from the instructions found here "How to apply Task Sequence Prestaged Media on multi-partitioned disks for BIOS or UEFI PCs in System Center Configuration Manager" so that we can give it to the engineers who build our pcs off site with no access to the network.

I created an ISO to test this out on a VM and USB media on a physical pc. Both have failed.

The task sequence runs and shuts down the computer. I checked before the prestage finished and all of the media is on the hard drive.
I power the computer back on and the TS continues and allows me to select our production ts that I also chose when creating the Prestage media. It then fails at installing the operating system step.  All of the directories are still on the hard drive.

Am I missing a step, are there any changes I have to make to the original production ts? I have the variable SMSTSMediaType not equals OEMMedia  set at the Format and Partition Disk step. I will not be in the office until Monday to get the failed logs if they are needed here.

Thanks,

Verify the step Apply OS to make sure that the correct partition will be targeted (again
if you have worked with a variable, this will not function any more as the TS
will now have skipped the partition disk step.), instead choose the correct destination in
Specific disk and partition

Thank you. That has worked.

I had a variable set. I changed the step to install on C:

I can believe I couldn't find that step in any documentation.
