I deleted Power Pivot from the registry editor and wanted to re-add it back. It is no longer among the COM add-in.
Hello,
!!!Never!!! manipulate the Registry without having fundamental knowledge about what you are doing, you could damage your system ... as you did here.
You have 2 options:
- If you have a second machine with Excel 2013 + Power Pivot then you could export all PP related registry keys you deleted before and import them on your machine
- Re-Installation of Excel 2013
Hi,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
- Installation repair did not fix it.
- Copying the registry from another PC with functional PP did the trick, which is now working as it's supposed to.
BTW, the original idea to edit the registry came from the office support web, titled Start the Power Pivot in Microsoft Excel add-in, feedback submitted.
Thanks a lot!
EDIT: With regards to the original post, the PP buttons were gray and unusable due to the file type being .xml.
