Dear Reader,
Connecting PowerPivot to our ERP system which has a legacy ODBC 2.0 driver, shows no tables and views.
I performed the following step:
1) PowerPivot - Manage - Get External Data - From Other Sources - Others (OLEDB/ODBC)
2) Build connection string
3) Next, Select from a list of tables and views to choose the data to import
4) Please wait
5) No tables are shown and the following message appears: "No tables were found in the data source. Check the connection information and login credentials."
I think the cause is the ODBC driver does not support schema's (The ERP system has no notion of schema's). And PowerPivot expects a schema name.
I have turned on Odbc tracing. The logfiles are too big to paste here, so I have put them here:
SQL.LOG - http://www.agp-software.nl/agp-w/PowerPivot_SQL.LOG
acpodb32.LOG (log output of legacy ODBC 2.0 driver) - http://www.agp-software.nl/agp-w/PowerPivot_acpodb32.log
(Side note: importing data using MSQuery32 from the ERP sytem works. MSQuery32 shows tables to choose from correctly and imports data correctly).
Kind regards,
Mirco Babin
