Possible to do disk-2-tape-2-tape?!

So I understand DPM2012R2 is designed primarily for disk-2-disk-2-tape backup, and it makes sense to keep "short term" backups on faster disks and use tape for monthly/quarterly or yearly backups.

My issue is that our "backup-disk" is infact a VTL disk array. So I choose tape for short term backup, but DPM doesn't allow me to set a different library for long term backup.

Is there any way to take a "full backup" out of the VTL library and store it to tape for quarterly/yearly storage? I can't make a new "protection group" as one server/member seems to only be able to join one of these...

I read somewhere that I could take a file "restore" to a new library, but with have LOTS of members backed up and you'd need to click each one manually in the restore window (it doesn't seem suited for a full restore of the entire system) and then "restore" to the other (physical) tape library for safe storage... this just don't seem very feasible to me.

Am I clueless and have missed something, or what?

PS: I'm fairly new to tape backup so the above is entirely possible :D

Nobody that can enlighten me? Am I in the wrong forum perhaps?

Each DPM protection group only supports a single tape library for backups

If you can get the VTL transfer the virtual tape to physical disk, then you can create another protection group and protect this to physical tape or Azure. I am assuming long term retention data on VTL is fulls.
