Portal scrolling not working after the update KB3008923

Hi,

I have a bit of a strange problem. I have on my portal (Microsoft portal) a few extra pages (eg. FAQ,...). After the Windows update KB3008923, I can no longer scroll on this pages. It simply doesen't work. It still works on other browsers, also on IE9, but not in IE11. People had a few other problems with this update - related KB (http://support2.microsoft.com/kb/3008923), but this doesen't fix the issue.

Has anyone else come across this problem?

Update: I found out that this is the problem on all pages. For example, if i try to edit a web part I can't scroll down to see all settings. Scrolling only works in silverlight based parts. Perhaps the problem is in the SM Portal site template?

Regards

Have you tried running the portal under compatibility mode in IE11?

Also, have you tried running it on another computer running IE11? I have seen browsers hold odd cookies and the like that can stop the portal displaying properly. Usually a flush out of the user state in IE fixes this issue.

Hello,

Compatibility mode doesn't help. I've also deleted cookies, browsing history, temporary internet files and also reseted IE settings and issue is still here.

I tried on multiple computers (in domain, in workgroup), other Windows operating systems and different browsers (IE9, IE10, IE11, Chrome). I've come to the conclusion that the problem is only with IE11. All the other combinations work. Update must have changed something which SMPortal cannot understand. Other web pages works fine.

Hi,

As we can see, there is a known issue with this update:

We are aware of some reports of functional issues on sites that use nested modal dialog boxes on Internet Explorer 11 that occur after you install this security update.

To resolve this issue, install update 3025390. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

      (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3025390/)

Some web application modal dialog boxes don't work correctly in Internet Explorer 11 after you install update 3008923.

You may try KB3025390.

I tried installing KB3025390 and that did not fixed scrolling issue on Service Manager Portal

However, I uninstalled KB3008923 and scrolling issue on Service Manager Portal is fixed.

I guess will have to hold on for KB3008923 and wait for fix.

Thanks,

Mital

MS released a new Security update KB3021952 on Feb 10 for IE11 and that also don't fix the Scrolling issue on Service Manager SSP.

By Removing the code applied on SCSM SharePoint master page fixes the issue. We are on SCSM 2012 R2 UR3. In SCSM 2012 we applied a piece of code to fix the vertical scroll issue (http://blogs.technet.com/b/servicemanager/archive/2012/07/05/fixing-the-missing-scroll-bar-issue-on-the-scsm-2012-portal.aspx#pi168154=2).

seems like MS fixed this issue in SCSM 2012 R2 and by removing this code the SSP with KB3008923 does work.

Hope this helps and resolves our issues.

To fix issue with missing scrolbar after December KB you need to remove scroll="no" in masterpage

From:

<body scroll="no" onload="if (typeof(_spBodyOnLoadWrapper) != 'undefined') _spBodyOnLoadWrapper();"

    style=">

To:

<body onload="if (typeof(_spBodyOnLoadWrapper) != 'undefined') _spBodyOnLoadWrapper();"

    style=">
