Please advice on planning authentication mode for site access/credential

Hello, we are planning to have an intranet website to be used by users (organization staff) within the company, by using their windows credentials.

We also want to enable FBA, so that our customers (not organization staff) can access the site by providing their credentials.

Please advice on how to go about planning for this.

For intranet for windows credentials i would go with windows authentication (Claims) and if i have option then go for kerberos otherwise NTLM will be fine.

For the Customers, how you configured site for them...will they access the site via internet(Public but accessed via Login) or you want to give them access to your intranet.

I would go with Public facing site and configure the FBA over there.

here is good blog for FBA configuration: http://blogs.technet.com/b/ptsblog/archive/2013/09/20/configuring-sharepoint-2013-forms-based-authentication-with-sqlmembershipprovider.aspx
