Ping Status
The Ping status monitor that comes with OPSMGR 2007 states that it is for the Agentless clients. I have attempted to use it with out good results and the heartbeat monitor is not alwaays that reliable. I have been working on script which works off a static list of servers and generates an alert when the server is not pingable, but i am looking for something more dynamic. Can anyone provide some of their methods? I have tried the Multi-Ping but had some strange inconsisten results.ThanksPaul

While this product is decent, and free, adding targets is a P.I.T.A. when you have a lot of targets. It would be easier to use a GUI and pick from available agents from within OpsMgr.

Hi, you don't need to ping agents that you already have in Ops Mgr. Ops Mgr will do a heartbeat check on them every minute.Anders Bengtsson | Microsoft PFE | blog at http://www.contoso.se
