Picture Library Problem - Upload Multiple Pictures and 'Send to' functions do not work
This one is driving me crazy, and there seems to be very little out there with respect to troubleshooting issues such as this. Anyway, the environment is as follows: Windows 2003 Standard x64 R2 SP2 running in Terminal Services Application Mode Citrix Presentation Server 4.0 x64 with latest patches, hot fixes, etc Microsoft Office Professional 2003 (Full installation, with everything, including Picture Manager) Internet Explorer v7 (we only publish the x86 version, so this issue has nothing to do with IE x64) Other applications, etc.) -- Enhanced Security mode has been DISABLED! The problem is that whenever we create a picture library, regardless of the permissions assigned to specific user accounts (generally Full Control for testing purposes, so this is not a security issue), the 'Upload Multiple Pictures' and the 'Send To' functions in the picture library simply do not work. When 'Upload Multiple Pictures' is selected, the screen changes and displays "If you have not finished uploading the pictures, switch to the picture editor and finish uploading. When you have finished, close the picture editor, and click the link below.", but Picture Manager never actually launches. Nothing happens. Other admins have informed me that Picture Manager, if installed and running correctly, is definitely supposed to launch. A friend of mine says he has seen this before, but was never able to figure out a fix. I have double-checked the Active-X controls, and the UploadCtl Control is enabled. Document Library multi-upload works fine, so this issue is specific to Picture Libraries. Obviously, browser-integration is turned on. The Windows 2K3 Server Web service is enabled, so it's not that either. I'm beginning to pull out my hair! As for the 'Send To' function in a Picture Library, it simply doesn't do anything. I had this working once in a test-environment, so I know it's supposed to launch a pop-up dialog box allowing the user to select where to send the picture (e.g. Outlook). If anyone can help shed some light on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that, for testing purposes, I'm logging on to the server locally with an account that has local admin rights, domain admin rights, and sharepoint admin rights. Hence, I can't see how this would be any sort of security issue.

Did you ever figure this one out? I seem to have the same issue but am using Vista so I just attributed it to that...

I'm very interested in a resolution to this as well. I have two environments, built identically from a MOSS standpoint, and in one of the environments the Upload Multiple Pictures option works fine, opening the Microsoft Office Picture Manager. In the other environment, however, the IE window flashes as though it should be opening Picture Manager, but nothing happens. It stays on the page with the message "If you have not finished uploading the pictures, switch to the picture editor and finish uploading. When you have finished, close the picture editor, and click the link below."Same users, same permissions, same configuration, same features activated. Any ideas?

Hi~ I was also having the problem when uploading multiple images, nothing happened. I installed MS Office Picture Manager, under Office Tools in the installation options, and this fixed my problem. Janet

Did anyone find a fix for this? I am having this same problem and cannot seem to find a true fix. It worked fine in the past not sure what changed in our environment that would cause this type of behavior all of a sudden.

I am having the same problem on a PC with Office Professional Plus 2010 installed. On a neighbouring machine with Office Professional Plus 2007, it works fine. Both PC's are running Windows Vista Enterprise. MS Office Picture Manager is installed on both PC's. If anyone has a fix for this I'd be most grateful - it's a real hassle having to ask my neighbour to let me use his PC every time I want to upload multiple pictures to a Sharepoint folder. Incidentally, I can upload multiple pictures using the drag and drop interface but if I do so, there is no option to optimize the pictures for viewing on the web, so they get uploaded as full-size pictures, which I do not want as it wastes space.

Hello , WebDav Publishing service mighth be loaded as IIS 7.0 Feature ,uninstall WebDav Publishing service from the server as the WebDav Publishing service denies the use of verb 'PUT', which would not allow the multiple document option to work. if the above does not work also try 1. For MOSS 2007 Edit the web.config located at DRIVE:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\12\ISAPI and add the following code before </configuration> <location path="Imaging.asmx"> <system.web> <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="200000" /> </system.web> </location> 2. For SP 2010 Edit the web.config located at DRIVE:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\ISAPI and add the following code before </configuration> <location path="Imaging.asmx"> <system.web> <httpRuntime maxRequestLength="200000" /> </system.web> </location> Thanks, Raj
