Pick Particular Software Update Point

Hi all -

Is there anyway to specify on a client computer, to tell it what server to use as its Software Update Point? We have two servers configured as Software Update Points, but we only want the client to use one. I am aware of the default configuration of the client that will test for connectivity of the first server, and will use the second server if the first fails.

We are running SCCM 2012 R2 CU4.

Thank you,

No you can`t.

The only way a client will change SUP point is if something is wrong with it.

Thanks for the response. When the client was first installed it didn't have access to either SUP, but I recently open up the firewall to allow a connection to one of the SUP points. It seems like it tries the first and then excludes that one, then it only tries the second one going forward.

Yes because for some odd reason if a SUP is not reachable via network it doesn't count as a real error.

You can change some configuration in the WMI name space so that the after it can't reach it it would change read this article.
