Permissions changing by themselves
Hi all Has anyone come across the issue before? We have a subsite were users have the Full Control permission. Everything was working fine with the site, allowing us to change settings, create workspaces etc, until today were suddenly we lost these option before our eyes. Even though we still appear to have Full Permission in the subsite we only have the following options in Site Settings: Look and Feel · Site theme · Top link bar · Quick Launch Galleries · Site content types · Site columns Site Administration · Site libraries and lists We cannot even view the Site Permissions. Our system admin, who has full servers and farm permissions, can still log make changes to this site without a problem but he has no idea why this has happend. Any suggestions?

Hi Dingbat89, Thank you for posting in the Microsoft TechNet forum! From your post, my understanding on this issue is: you suddenly lose permission on a subsite. If I'm off base, please feel free to let me know. To manage SharePoint site permissions, you must have the Full Control permission level for the site. You have this permission level if you can access the Sites Settings page for the site and the page contains the Users and Permissions column. Please check whether you can see access the Sites Settings page for the subsite and the page contains the Users and Permissions column. Try to remove the users from Full Permission, then add them back, then check the effect. Does the subsite inherit permission from its parent or have its own permission? What action did you perform before you encounter the issue? What is your SharePoint server version? Can you reproduce the issue on another subsite? Thanks! Rock WangRock Wang MSFT
