Permissions are insufficient for deploying reports
Hi, I am new to Report Services, and encountering one issue when trying to deploy the created reports. I created reports in BIDS 2008 with AdventureWorksLT data, once the reports are created, I want to deploy the reports. I defined TargetServerURL as http://localhost/reportserver/, once click deploy, one error shows:The permissions granted to user 'my user name' are insufficient for performing this operation. I want to know how can I get the permissions. Regards.Connie Zhu

Hi Connie, If you are using Windows 7 or Windows 2K8, then open the BIDS with option "Open as Administrator" and then try. Regards, Phani Note: Please vote/mark the post as answered if it answers your question/helps to solve your problem.

Hi Phaneendra, I opened BIDS with option "Open as Administrator", then I can deploy the data sources and reports. After deployment, I went to the link http://localhost/Reports, but there is nothing there on the home page. when I search in 'My Subscription' tab, below info shows. The permissions granted to user 'my user name' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied) Get Online Help Home if I click Get Online Help, it will show me this: Details ID: rsAccessDenied Source: Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.ErrorStrings We're sorry There is no additional information about this issue in the Error and Event Log Messages or Knowledge Base databases at this time. You can use the links in the Support area to determine whether any additional information might be available elsewhere. Thank you for searching on this message; your search helps us identify those areas for which we need to provide more information. Regards.Connie Zhu

Hi Connie, For a new question, please post it in a new thread. This will benefit other communities who meet the same issue. Anyway, for your new question, please also run Internet Explorer as administrator. Also, make sure the user has proper roles in the report server. Thanks, Jin ChenJin Chen - MSFT
