Permissions and users seeing option they should not be able to
Hi Currently I have managed to get working SQL Reporting Services (with SP4), on a Windows Server 2008 R2 Virtual Machine, the aim is to use in conjunction with ConfigMgr 2007 R3. Whe a user accesses the site through http://servername/reports, they are presented with the normal menu bar, displaying the Contents tab, the Properties tab, and then below this, the New Folder option, New Data Source option, Upload File option and the Report Builder option. I have followed: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/aa337385(v=SQL.90).aspx and assigned my higher level accound to the System Administrator role and a Security Group of some Windows User Accounts to the System User role. I have followed: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-US/library/aa337471(v=SQL.90).aspx and assigned Browser role to the Security Group of Windows Accounts that is using the System User role. Now reading the inofmration on the above article my understanding is that the users should not be able to see higher level options. "The user who has minimal permissions should be able to view items and run reports. The user who as elevated permissions should see additional property pages for each item, and be able to view more properties on the Site Settings page." I do not want normal users to be able to create a New Folder, etc, only to view reports, so where am I going wrong with this, could there be an underlying setting that is causing the issue? Regards
