Permissions
I have someone who wants access to one of my documents. The issue is that it's about 10 folder deep. Do I have to grant this person view access to every folder individualy, or is there a way to grant acess to everything down to the file, all at once?

So you want to break inheritance for this one file? Not a fan, but we do what we must. Break the permission inheritance, assign the permissions to the file you need. SharePoint will add the person with Restricted Read at the upper level, which allows that person to get to your file.Imagine what we could be...If we could just imagine. Daniel A. Galant

Hi Red, In your case if you gives permission at the root level all sub folders will inherit root folder permission. Bcz in sharepoint every thing treated as a item. if you want to break the permission in one of the subfolders you can use Item level permission to achive your requirement. Thanks, Nivas
