Hi,

Say, I have a drop down list in SharePoint calendar that comprises: Microsoft, Google, IBM and Sun. I have 4 SharePoint groups too: Microsoft, Google, IBM and Sun. I intend to assign each group to see their respective values in the drop down. Meaning Microsoft user group can ONLY see Microsoft in the drop down and nothing else, Google user group can ONLY see Google in the drop down and nothing else, IBM user group can ONLY see IBM in the drop down and nothing else, etc.

Using content type? or Using managed metadata? How to go about doing this?

Please assist. thanks

As far us users go, you can configure a People/Group Look-up column to only show its constituent members when a NewForm.aspx is being loaded up.

The OOB work around would be to have four separate calendars for each group, with their own User Groups but to overlay each of their entries into a master calendar.

A bit messy but should get you started.

Hi Steven,

i think i will try your 1st solution. but can u pls elaborate more on the step by step, as I am not really clear yet.

"configure a People/Group Look-up column to only show its constituent members when a NewForm.aspx is being loaded up"

do i have to create a new form called NewForm.aspx?

i have tried 2nd one before but hit problem with the limit of 10 calendars overlaying. I need much more than 10.
