Performance issue on SSRS 2008 R2 reports
Hi, I am beginner in SSRS.I have developed two reports .I have 4 filters in one report and 7 filters in other report.The execution time for each report is around 4-7 min. Can anyone pls guide me in providing some tips to reduce the execution time?? Thanks in Advance Regards, Swathi.CRegards, Swathi

Hi Swathi, Thanks for your question here. Actually, if we use filter in the report, the results being queried from database engine, then filtered in the report side. For complex filters, the report engine need to analysis them then filtered the results again. In addition, the report server has powerful application on report management, for the query performance, the database engine is better than the report engine. Based on previous analysis, if it is possible and you have the permission to edit the T-SQL query of the dataset, I would recommend you filter the results in database engine side.
