Performance Advantage of SSIS 2008 Teradata Connector by Attunity
I keep reading about how wonderful this thing is, but the closest I can come to any kind of statement on its performance is in a press release from Attunity. http://www.attunity.com/press_releases.aspx?newsId=1200 In recent internal testing fo these connectors, records were delivered at unprecedented performance levels, with rates of up to ten times that of standard OLE DB and nearly one hundred times that of existing Teradata connectors. Now, that these competing Teradata connectors were ten times slower than OLE DB makes me think independent tests may get me better data. Is there any such thing out there?

My organization uses the Attunity Drivers for Oracle OLE DB and I can tell you it provides hands-down greater performance. Here are some stats from tests we did a while back: Test Condition Record Count Rows/Second Elapsed Time (sec) 1: Flat File àSSIS à SQL 575,000 82,214 7 2: Flat File à SSIS àOracle 575,000 363 1584 3: Flat Fileà SQL Loader à Oracle 575,000 12,000 47 4: Flat File à Attunity DLL à Oracle 575,000 20,553 28 5: Oracle à SSIS à SQL 575,000 473 1215 6: SQL à SSIS à SQL 575,000 60,000 9
