People picker and different site collection on the same environment
For an exisiting site collection, we have no problem viewing users from multiple domains thru' People Picker and we did not have to run any stsadm command. However, for a new collection on the same environment, we can's see users from different domains which have bidirectional trust. No profile import involved. We just want to see users from multiple domains in the environment in the people picker so that we can add those users in the site collection. Thanks

Well, on some more digging, it is found that it is not between the old and the new app. SharePoint is not showing any users from another domain which has bidirectional trust with the current default domain, unless it is an already added user earlier. So, this problem appeared all of a sudden. I am looking for a non SharePoint way to find out whether two way trust is really working as expected. But I don't have access to the trusted domains to test this.

Although I am not sure why despite having a two way trust I had to do this, I had to change the property of people picker in all WFEs (and index server also if that has Web server role) by means of running the following: 1. stsadm -setapppassword –password somepassword 2. stsadm -o setproperty -pn peoplepicker-searchadforests -pv "domain:domain1, id,password ";"domain:domain2, id,password";"domain:domain2, id,password" -url https://yourApplicationUrl Unless the above is used in the exact format as given above, I could not get it working for multiple domain as my needs are. Note that the id and password I used is an id from domain2 or domain 3. It's not clear to me which domain's id/ password needs to be used. Would appreciate if someone lets me know. Thanks
