People Picker changes from Text to Number in Access 2007
When opening a SharePoint 2007 MOSS 3.0 list with a People Picker field type in Access 2007, the data type appears as a number in the design view of a table. However, in datasheet view of the table it appears correctly as text. We tried to change the data type in the query from number to text, but only the number is returned. The end goal is to use the text in a report, not the number. Why does this happen? How do we return the text (last name, first name) in a query as opposed to a number?

We discovered the solution. In Access, there is a User Information list. This list indicated the number associated with each user included within our original SharePoint list. We were able to match the ID Number with the text.
