I have been able to0 get FIM 2010 working pretty much, the portal is working and users are being brought from AD into FIM. I have now installed the password reset module, which is now appearing within the portal. However, I have previously followed the guide which explins how to synchronize FROM active directory. In order to have password reset working, I assume I am also going to have to sync TO active dircetory. Does anyone know where there might be documentation explaining the synronization changes which need to be made in order to use the password reset function?

From my understanding the password reset mechanism is actually WMI and does not require outbound synchronisation to AD, or an export run profile to be defined for AD. You just need to tick password management on the AD MA you have created, and have the required attributes present in FIM portal through inbound sync from AD.
