Password Change Locks Me Out of Sharepoint Workspace 2010

I cannot login to my SharePoint Workspace 2010 using Microsoft's server.  We do not have SharePoint installed.  Here is the situation.  I recently started using Office365 which requires strong passwords.  This required a password change.  Now I cannot login to my Workspace.  I have my account file and some archive files (.gsa), but they are a couple of years old.  I have an intact set of files in C:/Users/'username"/AppData/Local/Microsoft/Office/Groove, but obviously the files there have the old password and the binaries are encrypted.

I have thought about moving these files to an old computer not connected to my network and not using Office365.  Change the password to the old one consistent with the Groove files to see if that would work to recover my old workspaces.  Then I would archive the workspaces, move them to my production desktop, and import them.

Any advice on whether this might work or another way to recover my Workspaces?
