Passing reference and string attribute in advanced mapping from metaverse to active Directory
Hi, I have problem in passing the manager(reference attribute) and string attributes in advanced mapping from metaverse to active directory. But combinations of string attributes is passed from some other source to Manager attribute in Active directory. I have to add the manager attribute in the advanced mapping to pass it to active directory. Can anyone help on this as soon as possible

Are you using the FIM Portal or just the FIM Sync engine? In the FIM Sync Engine (without portal) you will not be able to create an advanced import flow to a reference attribute. When you try, you'll get an error: "Defining a rules extension import attribute flow to a metaverse reference attribute is not allowed." Did you check these articles below (ILM based but valid for FIM2010 too)? - How to import/export an alpha-numeric attribute as reference attribute (Knowledge bit) - ILM : getting attribute data from a referenced object (Experts Corner) They should put you on the right track with the sync engine. Using the FIM portal you'll have to use a custom expression or workflow to retrieve the manager. Check these posts handling your question: - Set manager attribute in Active Directory using FIM RC1 - Populating the manager attribute And also - Problem with Reference attribute mapping - Synchronization of reference attributes HTH, Peter Peter Geelen (Traxion) - Sr. Consultant IDA (http://www.fim2010.be) [If a post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" of that post or "Helpful" button of that post.
