Pass through authentication question
I currently have a web application with two zones: - Internet (http://sharepoint.mycompany.com) - Intranet (http://spServer/) Both have identical settings under Authentication Providers: - Windows - Enable anonymous access - Integrated Windows Auth > NTLM - Enable Client Integration (YES) When I go to the http://spServer/ and login from a domain machine, it passes my credentials automatically. When I go to http://sharepoint.mycompany.com, it challenges me with the default username / password box. What should I do to enable pass through authentication from the Internet Zone. Thanks for any help.

Add http://sharepoint.mycompany.com to the Local Intranet zone or Trusted Sites in IE. Basically, you are not prompted for credentials due to your browser settings for whichever zone http://spServer/ is in (as Aseem says, probably your trusted sites or local intranet zone). For IE, this is configured by going to: Tools > Internet options Security tab Click on the appropriate zone (e.g. "trusted sites") Confirm http://spServer/ is added as a site in that zone Select "Custom level" Scroll to the bottom of this panel - there is an option called "Automatic logon with current username and password" which is likely enabled for the zone that http://spServer/ is in.
