Page Level Permissions
Hello, I am having trouble giving a group access to update a single page rather than all pages. Office SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure has been enabled. I have tried to give the person/group Full Control on a single page but the Publishing button is missing. I have found this http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/sharepointgeneral/thread/1e1e69ea-5cf0-460f-bb5a-1c863051c316 but no-one seems to confirm whether it has been fixed?! Cheers John

Hi John, If you are using existed permission level, even you give user full control permission on this page item, they may still not be able to see the “publish” button. What’s the permission of the user on the page library’s parent site? · If they have read permission (visitors group) on its parent site, they can’t see the page editing tool bar. · If they have contribution permission on its parent site, they can see the page editing tool bar and publish the page. If you don’t want to give users contributor permission on its parent site, you may need to create custom permission level which can satisfy your business need. Hope this helps. Lu Zou

Hello Lu Zou, Thanks for getting back to me. I would want individual users to have edit permission for individual pages and publish individual pages. So I have setup the user with a custom permission with the following: List Permissions - Edit Items, View Items Site Permissions - Add and Customize Pages I then added the user group to the Manage Permissions of the single page, and gave that group the above Custom Permission. All I get is the Site Actions drop down with Edit Page. I do not get the Publishing toolbar. So the user is able to edit the page but not publish the page. Thanks in advance John
