PXE and enable unknown computer support
My environment is:server 2003 sp2sccm sp2wsus 3.0 sp2I am trying to enable unknown computer support with the PXE service point properties and unfortunately that check box is not available?Does this option work with server 2003 or do I need server 2008?I tried uninstall the PXE service point and WDS, restarted the server. Then I reinstalled WDS, restarted, reinstalled the PXE service point, restarted and the check box is still not available.

To enable unknown computer support you need SCCM 2007 R2.See also here: http://technet.microsoft.com/nl-nl/library/cc161883(en-us).aspxMy Blog: http://www.petervanderwoude.nl/

Hi Frank,R2 is a separate download (22 MB), that you can download at http://licensing.microsoft.com.R2 requires SP1 or SP2 and you need to have software Assurance in order to use it. Read all about R2 here:http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/configmgr/cc761485.aspxHopefully this answers your question.Ronni Pedersen | MVP | MCTS:Configuration Manager 2007 | MCITP:Enterprise Administrator | MCT
