PXE Boot Infinite DHCP...

I have just been donated several Dell Latitude E6250. I tried to PXE boot to deploy one of my images to see what works and what doesn't to build one for it. I have tried to PXE boot 3 of them with the same issue. It picks up the Client MAC address and GUID but afterwards it goes into DHCP with infinite dots after it. I left it overnight and it does not give any error message and it just keeps going.

I have other several computers that PXE boot just fine even off the same network cable that the laptops having the problem were plugged in to. I have checked my smspxe.log but I don't see anything pertaining to the issue in this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You set up the DHCP for PXE or any IP helpers?

Are IPhelpers or DHCP options in place? UEFI or BIOS?

IP Helper has been setup, as mentioned before other laptops are able to PXE boot.

What happens if you would boot an OS? Does the client get an IP then?

IP Helper has been setup, as mentioned before other laptops are able to PXE boot. The Dell laptop is on BIOS not UEFI.

They were donated so they currently have no OS. The network lights are on I will install with windows with a USB flash drive to see if it gets a network connection.

As Torsten states, does the device get an IP if booted to OS? Is it just the Dell laptop? Is it a hardware issue?

You could create a boot iso in ConfigMgr and see if gets an IP (assuming the NIC driver for that model is in the boot.wim)

The Dell Laptop does get an IP address. I did add the NIC drivers to the Boot image under Boot images in the Software Library. Yes it is only the Dell laptop all other laptops that I have boot into SCCM just fine.

Then it's going hard to help here in the forums. Do you see any activities in smspxe.log on the pxe-enabled DP (which I doubt)?

The log does not show anything from today's date. Well thank you for all your help.

Hello,

Dell NIC driver might be the problem, sometimes you need find your driver from Intel site directly.

Check the last post.

The Problem was fixed after I was able to use Hirens Boot CD to get into Mini XP and connect to the internet. I verified the NIC card was working and then restarted the PC and then it was able to find my SCCM server. Thank you all for helping out.
