Output Cache Not Working
Hello, I'm trying to activate Output Caching on my SharePoint site but it doesn't seem to be working. When I go to /SitePages/Home.aspx with output caching enabled, I don't see the debugging tag at the end of the document. I open it with View Source and have searched for the tag but I can't seem to find it. I've followed the instructions http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa661294.aspx here to set it up and as far as I can tell it is all setup correctly. I've tried each different profile, intranet, extranet and public internet with no success. Am I expecting the wrong behavior from output caching? It is my understanding that for any page it will keep the rendered html in memory and serve it for the specified time to any user meeting the same permissions. Any help would be appreciated. Hi John, If you “Enable debug cache information on page”, and want to see the cache render information in the end of the page html source. You need to enable the option “Allow writers to view cached content” in Cache Profile, for more information you can read this article, http://ppalakollu.blogspot.com/2008/02/output-cache-not-used-reason-user-can.html There is another article with same topic given a piece of description about the page output cache: The page output cache store the rendered output of all controls in a given page… And the server does not do these things: fetch data from database, reload the render each control, and query data. You can check it. http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepoint-server-help/configure-page-output-cache-settings-HA010120686.aspx#BM1 Thanks, DanielRegards, Daniel, Microsoft Contingent Staff
