Hi Joao, My system is x86 ( not x64 ) ... And Im really confused since I cant locate anything similar to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Sync Framework on my computer. Furthermore, theres nothing appearing like a Sync service package in my installed ( Add/Remove Programs ) list. I also looked at the package maintenance options in my existing Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2007 installation, and its not part of those maintained components. ** I wonder if Outlook 2007 does its SharePoint integration simply using the Replication API, and not requiring an external Sync framework or service. By the way, I now have quite a few (variety of) log files created by Outlook in my Temp folder; since Im running with logging enabled. Theres SyncSetup_en.x86.zip Version 1.0 ( 13-Oct-2008 ) from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=15391 And theres SyncSetup_en.x86.zip Version 1.0 SP1 ( 12-Apr-2010 ) from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=17616 The difference (in SP1) appears to be this new public change tracking API feature for SQL Compact 3.5 SP2; plus the following bug fixes : The notes on the SP1 installation advise Note You may not have to apply all of the packages that are included in this hotfix: If Microsoft Sync Framework Runtime v1.0 is installed, run the Synchronization.msi file. If Microsoft Sync Framework SDK v1.0 is installed, run the SyncSDK.msi file. If Microsoft Sync Services for ADO.NET v2.0 is installed, run the SyncServicesADO.msi file. If Microsoft Sync Framework Services v1.0 is installed, run the ProviderServices.msi file. And on this topic, Microsoft also offers Sync Framework versions 2.0, 2.1, and 4.0. I went ahead and installed the 1.0 and then installed the 1.0 SP1 ProviderServices, Synchronization, and SyncServicesADO ( and finally I added the SP1 version of SyncSDK, since I saw the v 1.0 setup.exe installed it too ). One of them, Synchronization.msi ( the version 1, SP1 ) took an inordinately long length of time to run on my PC. After all of this, now my Add/Remove Programs list in Windows is showing these brand new entries I exited Outlook completely and started it as a fresh new process. In OlkRepl.log I still see the stuckness All of this hasnt made progress. Thanks; bnarasimharao

Hi Joao, The SharePoint version is 2007. I could not identify any program named Microsoft Framework Sync to remove. This problem is happening for very few users. For most of them the sync is working fine. Can you please suggest on this ? Thanks. bnarasimharao
