Outlook calendar color coding
We have several calendars in SharePoint 2007 for departments to use. Most of them connect to the calendar from Outlook. When one person enters an item into the calendar from Outlook they often color code items for different functions however when the next person received an update to Outlook with that calendar entry the color coding is gone. Is there any way to carry that from Outlook through to SharePoint then back to another Outlook client?

Hi Darren,The color coding in Outlook is client based and cannot be carried synchronised with SharePoint. You can of course colour code items in a SharePoint Calendar using JQuery, Javascript or Third Party tools; but, as said, this 'formatting' cannot be synchronised back to Outlook either. The closest you can get doing this out of the box is via a manual bit of work, working out the color in Outlook, and configuring the calendar so that it reacts to information in Outlook and displays the relevant color based on somekind of category.Take a look at this:http://www.endusersharepoint.com/2009/04/17/sharepoint-color-coded-calendar-the-payroll-schedule/Hope this helpsGeoff
