Outgoing E-Mail Settings

I've previously configured in "system settings" that it should send and reply-to address:   mail1@contoso.com

Now I've changed this to:  mail2@contoso.com - but still the email received is mail1@contoso.dk  and the Sender name is portal name....

Where is this controlled?

hi

did you do this only in one place: CA > System settings > Configure outgoing e-mail settings? If yes you may also do this for particular web applications in CA > Application management > Manage web applications > select web application > General settings > Outgoing e-mail.

When you say you are getting emails from mail2, is it for OOB alerts and for all sites. In other words, you have not customised outgoing emails or getting them from some workflow etc.

have you tried restarting timer service on the server where SMTP is confi

Try going to CA -> Manage Web Applications -> General Settings -> Outgoing E-Mail. See if it needs to be changed there.

If its coming only for newsfeed, you might want to check the email settings associated with the mysite web application.

Yes - but that's (MySite) checked as well... and the setting is the new email address as well

Hi JmATK,

I recommend to check the email address set in the Email Notifications in User Profile Service Application.

Please go to Central Administration > Application Management > Manage service applications > User Profile Service Application > Setup My Sites under My Site Settings > scroll down to Email Notifications.

Thanks,

Victoria

Hi Victoria

Spot on.. :)

It's changed there as well now...and works.. :)

why this doesn't inherit the global system settings or the individual WebApp settings - must be a mystery... :)

Thanks, All
