Oracle as souce for SSIS 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2
Hey Any suggestions? I have SSIS 2008 R2 on Windows Server 2008 R2 64bit (or Windows 7) and I want to use an Oracle database (10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit) as a source for a Datamigration to SQL Server. What drivers should I install and should I use ADO.Net or OLE DB? Kind regards, Joost Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question | My SSIS Blog: http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com

When installing 64-bit Oracle Data Access Components (ODAC) I get an (useless) error: Java(TM) 2 Platform Standard Edition binary has stopped working: A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question | My SSIS Blog: http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com

(and running the package in 32bit modus) Please mark the post as answered if it answers your question | My SSIS Blog: http://microsoft-ssis.blogspot.com

Yes. BIDS is 32 bit application and it will expect Oracle 10G client component (32 bit) during the development. During deployment and automation process, SSIS package will expect 64 bit components. So you have to install 64 bit oracle client component as well. Best regards, Sengwa Best regards, Sengwa
