Oracle Data Provider for .NET timeouts and idle connection messages
I am importing data from our Oracle data warehouse to a SQL Server database using the ADO .Net Provider Oracle Data Provider for .NET and at least 50 percent of the time I get connection timeouts or idle connection messages and the process reports a failure. I am writing SQL Commands to pull the data but it really isn't all the complicated. I have four or five transformations in a row that pull data from Oracle to SQL Server and any one can fail at any time due to these issues. I've tried other data providers but this is the only one I could even get to return any data. I have been struggling with this for weeks now. Any suggestions? Thanks! Karen

Can't you use the OLE DB provider for Oracle? http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=d9cb21fe-32e9-4d34-a381-6f9231d84f1e&displaylang=enMCTS, MCITP - Please mark posts as answered where appropriate.
