Hi I'm facing a strange problem with the alert view which I have created in custom management pack. The alerts related to windows server operating system class are properly visible in this view but alerts from other management packs, say SQL, are not visible in the same view. I was first using the windows server_extended class to populate computer groups and then I changed the dynamic group membership rule to use windows server operating system_extended class. (this is created using registry value). Since this change the other MP alerts are not visible in the custom alert views I have created. Can someone shed any light as to what I'm missing/doing wrong over here. If the other alerts are not visible then particular teams using these views from their consoles are not able to get those alerts. Adhokd

Hi Abhokd, Without asking for an extract of the MP to properly analyse the situation, I think I might know the problem. All of these applications that have suddenly disappeared from your custom view are most likely related to the Windows Server class, but not the Windows Server Operating System class. This means if your view is targeted at the Windows Server class, it will show all alerts for any child classes of the Windows Server class. But by changing the view to target the Windows Server Operating System class (which is a child class of Windows Server), it will only show the alerts for any child classes of the Windows Server Operating System class. The view will only show children of the targeted class (down the hierarchy), it won't show any parent classes with their child classes (it won't traverse up the hierarchy and then back down again).
