Hi Roger: In the log , I found: Unknown Error. Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Common.UnauthorizedAccessMonitoringException : The user does not have sufficient permission to perform the operation. ====== Analysis ====== This problem occurs if you configure Operations Manager 2007 to use the Local System account as the OpsMgr SDK Service account. In this configuration, the installation queries Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) for the computer account that is associated with the root management server. When the SDK and Configuration services are running as a local user account, any call to an Operations Manager Connector Framework (OMCF) method will generate an exception (UnauthorizedAccessMonitoringException). ======== Suggestion ======== To resolve this problem, configure the OpsMgr SDK Service to use a domain account instead of the Local System account. After you install Operations Manager 2007 Reporting, you can configure the OpsMgr SDK Service to use the Local System account. Be aware that you must configure the OpsMgr Config Service to use the same account as the OpsMgr SDK Service. ============ More Information ============ The following KB will teach you how to change the service accounts: 936220 How to change the credentials for the OpsMgr SDK Service and for the OpsMgr Config Service in Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;936220 Hope this helps

Could you check and see if the remote SQL instance is running under a domain account? If so, could you set it to localsystem and see if that corrects your install issue?

SCOM (System Center Operaions Manger)2007 is what I am installing

Hi Roger, Thanks for the update. If you are still unable to complete the setup after following this KB, you may install SCOM2007 reporting on the Operation manager box Also, as this issue is a pure SCOM installation issue, if the problem still occurs, I would like to suggest that you post it in Microsoft public newsgroups for SCOM (microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup) which would be the most relevant newsgroup for your question. microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup Hope this helps Sincerely, Eric Zhang Microsoft Online Community Support

Hi Vinser, As the issue you mentioned is different from the one discussed in this current thread (which is a SCOM installation issue), wed recommend that you start up a new thread for it. We generally focus on one topic in one thread because in this way it will be better for other community members to participate in the discussion and to search and find specific answers efficiently in the future. Meanwhile, please post your SCE setup logs in the new thread, you can find the SCE log in the following path: %temp% and the log name is SCESetup#.log (where # is a number) Thanks! Roger,This was giving me a problem to. I created a group in AD, added the SCOM accounts, the RMS machine account, the SQL machine account and the account i was installing the application with. i dont know if you need all those, thats just what i added since i had nothing to go on. Add that group to the Operations Manager Administrators groups via the Operators Console in the User Roles. Builtin\Administrators was already there, but for some reason it wasnt liking that. that me know how it works out. r/Trip

HI, Thanks for your reply. As this issue is related to SCOM, it is now closed. For questions about System Center Operations Manager 2007, please use the Microsoft public newsgroups for SCOM (microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup) which would be the most relevant newsgroup for your question. microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.opsmgr.setup Thanks. <!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--><!--[endif]--> Sincerely, Eric Zhang Microsoft Online Community Support
