Operation Failed

Hello -

I'm trying to back up a file server, it a Windows 2008 R2 OS and it's a file server only.

I'm simply trying to back up the one partition which is labeled as D:\ .

When I run the backup, it has failed over the last week and it gives the error message below:

Operation failed for D:\on EGVDPMServer01 due to VSS error on the DPM server. Future backups are also likely to fail until the issue is fixed. (ID 30078 Details: Unknown error (0xd000000d) (0xD000000D)).

EGVDPMServer01 is the actual backup server, it's not the file server.

The file server is called epcfile01 but the failure is being reported on the DPM server which is "EGVDPMServer01".

Thanks

Hi,

Above all of course we need to confirm with you that the "backup source" is set correctly.

As the error message mentioned the DPM server, please let me know if it works fine on backing up other server or other volume on same file server.

In the meantime please check the disk space of the backup target to see if there is enough space for a new backup.

Also check "vss list shadowstorage" to see if there is enough shadow copy storage space.
