Opening a modal dialog outside of the (small) Page Viewer web part

Hello everyone,

I am using a Page Viewer web part to display a list from a different site.  I've appended "?IsDlg=1" to the end of the URL to remove the navigation items, and have added some CSS to the list's page to remove the ribbon.  So far so good.

Trouble: When I click a list item to view or edit it, SharePoint loads the view/edit form (modal) within the confines of the extremely-small Page Viewer web part.  I would like the modal to load this form within the parent page (the one that has the Page Viewer web part on it).

Any suggestions on what I can do to ensure links that are clicked within the Page Viewer web part load as if they are being clicked on the main page?

Thanks so much,
Kenton

Hi, sorry, although the title of the other thread sounds promising, the content isn't helpful at all.
