Opening Folder On Restricted Desktop
Okay,
I have one folder on the desktop which contains 3 other folders in which have video files. These are the only folders I want on the desktop to be able to be opened. I have made sure that they have all of the correct restrictions. Yet, when I save changes
and restart the folders continue to say that the user does not have permissions due to the permissions set by the administrator.
How can I change it so that the restricted user can open the folder on the desktop and play the media files in them?
As I have said before, the account has all of the correct permissions and restrictions. All I need it to do it be able to open the folder on the desktop.
Would creating a shortcut make a difference in case I put it somewhere else? Or should I create a shortcut for all users?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Edge

Hi Edge, have you enabled the following restrictions in Windows SteadyState?
Set Computer Restrictions - Prevent users from creating folders and files on drive C:\
User settings - Prevent users from saving files to the desktop
You can temporarily disable them and see the result.Sean Zhu - MSFT
