Open link in new window?
Any ideas on how to make a link in Sharepoint open in a new window other that right clicking on it and selecting 'Open in New Window'?

The simple way is to open the page in SharePoint Designer, convert the web part to a Data View, then right click on the field and set to option to open in a new window.

Sighs, Why is it everyone is answering the question without first asking exactly which SharePoint product and version he is asking about !!! I have a FAQ item for WSS 2.0 for instance here http://wss.asaris.de/sites/walsh/Lists/WSS%20FAQ/DispForm.aspx?ID=246 with lots of suggestions, but I'm loath to suggest it to someone who only says he is running "SharePoint" as it doesn't apply to WSS 3.0 (as using FP 2003 with that would mess up his entire system!!!). Mike Walsh Let's stop making the assumption that everyone is running a v3 product ... There are a lot of people out there who aren't.

I created a list that has a hyperlink column. All links in the hyperlink column are to other sites. I need the links in this column (to other sites) to open in a new window, but not the hyperlinked list item itself. List items are displayed in filtered pages to include the list item name (linked to the entire record), the hyperlink column, and others. Can this be done, and how? Thanks.
