OpenDocument Addon breaking

Hi!

We are running Sharepoint 2010.  Our users are running Windows 7. Office 2010. IE 9.

We do have some Office 2013 components (Lync 2013 and a few users have Visio 2013).

Everytime we install or modify a 2013 component we have to repair Office 2010 because the Sharepoint OpenDocument Addon stops working.

When you click on a document from Sharepoint (xlsx for example) it normall asks to Open Read Only or Open Modify. When the addon stops working users only have the options Open.. Save.. or Save As... (choosing open opens read-only) with no Sharepoint notions (doesnt even tell you this is readonly)

Not sure where to start. Thoughts?

Thanks

Whenever we install an Office 2013 item we have to disable the sharepoint component.

If not the owsscp.dll file in the Office15 folder gets registered.

Is there a quick easy way to deregister/reregister the Office14 one (it is still there)

Hi,

As far as I know, the safest way is to repair office 2010.  In Control Panel, go to Programs. Find Office in the list of programs, and click Repair or Change. Be sure to install Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Support, within Office Tools.

Thanks,

Entan Ming

Thanks. Is there some way to for Sharepoint 2010 to support office 2013 or am I missing the point?

Doing a repair on a little under 600 computers is not a simple task :)

Hi Sam,

Just looking at similar threads / problems, I'm wondering if the suggestions here might be of interest for you.  Before attempting to reinstall the Office 2010 component, the RegEdit changes shown within this post might alleviate the issues you're seeing: -

The June 2013 CU was released recently but I'm not sure if it'll fix either the issues referred to within that thread or your own one.
