Office Web Apps 2013 - hosting/discovery not showing XML

I am following the instructions to configure and setup Office Web Apps 2013 on a Server 2012 system.  I am connecting to a SharePoint 2013 Enterprise Edition August 2013 CU (I think that's the latest) (This is development server).  I am testing / trying to get Office Web Apps 2013 to work and display the "magic" that I see on demonstrations and presentations.

I am following "people" and blogs and obviously TechNet:

http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj219455(v=office.15).aspx#singleHTTPS

I am partically "stuck" on the listing below, where it looks for hosting/ discovery:

"you should see a Web app Open Platform Interface (WOPI)-discovery XML file in your web browser"

When I go to my (name changed) http://SP2013/hosting/discovery

I get the error:

Page not found

Is there something that I can do?  I don't know where to start to look for the ULS logs, on OWA2013 or SP2013?

I AM able to get some of the Webpages to display after a moment or two.  Is there a delay on my SP2013 system or on my OWA2013 system?  Should I give one or the other more memory / processor?  I have to wait about 10 seconds for the display to appear, if I go down the list in my search results and go over webpages, I have to "wait" it seems for them to "load" and then I can "see" information.

When I go to look at Word Documents, I get this error below, NOT logged on as System Account as I read that that is not good.

couple of things, did you install the OWA that uses SSL? if yes then try to cbrowse via https

https://SP2013/hosting/discovery

also check the troubleshooting section on same page which talking about the 2nd error, which may be due to memory.

Thank you for getting back to me, would the memory be on OWA2013 or on SP2013 server?  I have 10GB on SP2013 and maybe 4GB on OWA2013 and 1 processor.  I KNOW I KNOW!  Just trying to "BEG" I.T. for more resources.  With it being in DEV they don't want to give up stuff and I don't know what to try to ask for.  I went from 8GB on SP2013 to 10GB memory with 8 processors, and that was asking a good bit, I thought!

I am using HTTP and waiting for HTTPS

Would I want to check, as you said for the hosting on port 80?  I have another web app port for my main sharepoint site, as a test, and wonder if I should try to remove and put at default port 80?

Thank you again

To verify that Office Web Apps Server is installed and configured correctly, use a web browser to access the Office Web Apps Server discovery URL, as shown in the following example

either https or http://servername/hosting/discovery

this will tells you whether your OWA installation correct or not?
