Object reference not set to an instance of an object
We have created reports in SSRS (SQL server 2008 R2). In which when we run the report in my machine with different combination of parameter filter its working fine. But the same report not working for same combination of parameter filter on another machine. Its working for some combination If we change the parameter filter value. Below Error "An error occurred during client rendering.Object reference not set to an instance of an object" Thanks Suhas

Suhas R K, You could check the following things: - Is the SSRS version on the other machine the same? - Is the datasource available on the other machine? - Is the underlaying data available on the other machine? - If you deploy an other report does it work fine on the other machine? Grtz, Ivo

Thanks IVO for your reply, I allready check all the above things. Report is working fine for few combination of parameter value. But gives error for some parameter value. We have 4 parameter in the report and report having data source SSAS having MDX Query. Thanks Suhas

Suhas, A message that indicates that the object reference is not set to an instance of the object is typically caused by one or more of the following reasons: There are soft page breaks within empty lists in the report. There are hidden groups within the report and you tried to export it to PDF. The report has a link to a subreport that is not published on the report server and you tried to export it to CSV. There are text boxes with a width and/or height of zero in the report. A text box is either hidden or the NoRows property is set to true. A text box spans table cells where some cells have a collection of null values. The report has static columns and/or rows and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true. The report has static columns and/or rows and there are grand totals in the report. The report has static column headings and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true. The matrix report has multiple columns and rows and, in the Visibility properties, Hidden is set to true and you tried to export to PDF or TIFF. Wasn't any of these specific items, but my use of a graphic in the report clued me in as to the problem. Replaced the indicator graphic with text and all is now working. Thanks for the hints.Barry Day
