OS (Linux and Windows) Disk usage monitoring and threshold
Hi!,
Can someone pl share good link on how to configure windows and linux disk threshold and notification?
I would like to be notified for the following:
1) Disk usage reaches 90% - send first email
2) Disk usage reaches 98% - send second email
This setting can be the same for OS drives and data drives on both the OS. Appreciate some quick help.
Many thanks

Hi,
To monitor disk usage, please try the disk space related monitors in the following:
System Center Operations Manager 2007 R2 Cross Platform Management Packs
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=18891
Windows Client 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 Operating System Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=15700
Windows Server Operating System Management Pack for Operations Manager 2007
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=9296
To change the thresholds, I think you can try overrides:
Best practices to use when you configure overrides in System Center Operations Manager 2007

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

hi Venn,
For Windows, The monitor for disk space alerting is a double-threshold monitor so to get a %age to trigger, first set the MB disk threshold to a VERY large number. e.g. 1TB, and then set the % Disk threshold first to 90%, and the criteria
as a WARNING, the second threshold for Critical set as 98%.
