Hello all, SCCM 2007 SP2 R3 integrated with MDT 2010. we're deploying Windows XP SP3 on about 20 desktop and laptop models since 2 years. Imaging working fine so far but recently our management procured new ~100 "HP Compaq 6005 Pro SFF". however PCs continuously restarting at Windows loading screen after applying image during OSD ..below are the observations 1. Imaging is working fine on old 6005 models however failing on only newly procured 6005 model. 2. We tried to apply latest storage drivers by TS but no go. 3. We tried to make changes in BIOS to switch to Legacy IDE mode, no go What could be possible causes? pls advice

Samtiger, How was the xp image originally created? was it created on the 6005 system then a snapshot taken for reimaging? Kind Regards, Tom Ziegler http://www.sccmguy.com | Twitter @Tom_Ziegler

You have to capture the image with new Laptop with proper Driver, might be there some issue with DriverSharad Singh | My blogs: SharadTech | Twitter: @MrLucknowWale |

Have you tried to add the newest NIC driver to your driverpackage to see if it solves the problem.

SamTiger... How far does the task sequence get? How are you applying drivers (Driver package or auto apply drivers?). When you boot into WinPE press f8 (assuming you have command line support enabled) and check that you have an IP address. This is to be sure you have the correct NIC driver in your boot image, if not the device will just reboot. Are you getting any errors as part of the deployment? Are you getting BSOD after it applies the image and installs the drivers and is in the old Windows XP setup (blue screen, no GUI)... Also depending how far you are getting you can check the smsts.log file. If you have errors we may be able to help a bit more. SinghSharad, Sounds like the way they are deploying their image is using 1 flat image, which works fine. He is not taking a capture of each device as they come onto the network. In his senario he doesnt need to capture the image with the drivers installed.
