OSD failed on a client
While advertising the Task sequence, the collection selected had a PC located at a different country. Since the advertisement was scheduled as High and As soon as possible, the advertisement started running even when the user was logged in (without PXE BOOT). We have uploaded all the OSD related files only in the main distribution point and not in the distribution point of the client's PC . Since the OSD files were not available in the Local distribution point, it contacted the Remote distribution point. This Task sequence started running and finished in few minutes and did not even format the PC. The advertisement has been deleted from the SCCM, So I am not able to check the logs of Advertisement status Could anybody please let me know why it did not format the PC and OSD was failed?

what did the smsts.log file say ? (that's on the client) it will reveal the failure which is most likely something about not being able to get content from a dp... or similar My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Hi , Thanks for your response. I have one more doubt. The same Task sequence runs if I try to deploy a client system in our location even if a non-admin user is logged in on the client system but it fails to run on a remote client.

It looks like the network connection went down, or the DP machine went offline. You can see from the logs that the download of the boot wim file has started, but then after just over 6 minutes, the connection terminated. I'm guessing that the network is not reliable (since this is between different countries). Found boot image pkgpath\boot.wim TSManager 10/6/2010 2:24:49 PM 2928 (0x0B70) Copying boot image locally...
