Hi,

I upgraded our site from SP1 to R2 on Tuesday morning and have hit a number of hurdles. The first was an issue with management points not installing, I ended up having to uninstall the roles, install the latest client manually and then reinstall the roles. Then everything seemed to be working fine.

Now I have discovered that my OSD Task sequences are not functioning correctly. Everything seems to go fine, until it reaches the Setup Windows and ConfigMgr, and then once that step is complete, it reboots and I'm left on the ctrl+alt+del screen, with the computer joined to domain but no additional steps performed.

The TS doesn't end with an error and there is nothing clear to me in the log, its as if the new client gets installed and it just ends the TS!

- The task sequences are MDT 2012 update 1 integrated. I have not installed MDT 2013 on the primary server.

- I have not updated the boot images which are used

Can anyone help with this please and would the above 2 points have an effect?

Have you already examined smsts.log? Does it contain something like
Failed to resume task sequence (0x800700EA)?
If so: possible solution(s): change anything in the task sequence (modify a comment on an existing step) and click 'ok' to save/update it. Re-Create the task sequence.

Thanks for the reply Torsten, however I managed to get it sorted. I had already changed something in the TS also and in my case it had not worked.

I was indeed getting that Failed to resume task sequence (0x800700EA) error and what I found that was the old MDT boot images no longer worked. I changed by boot images to use the default ones which has been upgraded and it looked good, but I had a script it didn't like so failed again. (i can assume it used the additional functionality an MDT boot image has)

I ended up installing MDT 2013 on the server and creating new WinPE 5 MDT boot images and using them with my task sequence and finally everyone can build again!
