OSD deployed to all machines in collection
Hi
I'm having some trouble with OSD, i managed to test a deployment ok and install the OS from a reference computer, however when i tried to deploy another and instead of deploying it to my test collection and managed to send the advertisement to "All XP systems"
this caused a small problem :-) I did prestage the computer by creating a computer association based on the MAC so i'm unsure why they were all affected?
I'm fairly certain what i did wrong when creating the task sequence my question is i have a computer in my Test collection and want to add 3 more, if i prestage them and target the test collection will the exsiting computer be affected?
apologies if this doesn't seem to make much sense

Hi,
If you advertise the task sequence to "All XP Systems" all XP systems in the site will be targeted prestaged or not.
Creating a test collection, advertising the TS to the test collection and import/add the computer you want to install to that collection will solve your problem, and only affect the computers in the test-collection.

Hi Thanks,
I have another computer in my test collection which i don't want to be wiped, since SCCM is query based i cannot drag and drop computer objects like in AD. How do i stop that computer from being imaged? Do i need to create another collection every time
i image machines?

You can use Direct membership for the collections instead of query based, and then add the computer in the collection directly. Then you can add the computer you want to reinstall and then remove it using a script like this:

I would remove them manually from the collection and then implement the script solution.
