OSD and USMT storage to network (No SMP)
I have a client that does not want to use a SMP for various reasons and not also use hard-link (worried about drive failure). So in the MDT TS we have, I want to be able to add to my cs.ini a unc. I know UDShare is not support from what I read. What are the options here? I been reading that with SCCM ZTI, it's either SMP or hardlink.Jay Parekh Project Leadership Associates

works fine to store the state on a network share, infact I do it using the windows-noob.com frontend, Introducing the windows-noob.com FrontEnd HTA version 1.0 Multipurpose HTA My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady

Need to make it part of ZTI. In your HTA, what variable are you plugging in? UDShare?Jay Parekh Project Leadership Associates

well first of all i dont use hardlinking when creating the statestore for backupold to network, i create it locally (on c:\ somewhere), use Offline mode in WinPE to do the scanstate, then when the state is backed up I xcopy it to a network share, it can then be browsed for in the HTA by choosing New Computer, restore options for reinstall/refresh i use the offline mode in winpe with hardlinking My step by step SCCM Guides I'm on Twitter > ncbrady
