OSD Workgroup

Hi, we're trying to deploy workgroup clients via OSD.

We have a pki environment and we don't have any issues installing/configuring workgroup clients that are already installed.

All communications at set via https and for intranet clients only

When we try to image new systems, the client is getting install, but software updates aren't getting pushed cause the client ends up being Internet, instead of Intranet.

We followed the following post to have workgroup clients work withing OSD.

http://ittherapist.net/2014/01/16/sccm-2012-r2-os-deployment-with-pki-https/

Our bandaries are set to work like they should (works for already installed clients in the same scope)

I saw multiple posts with diff command lines to install the client in the setup Windows and configmgr, but none seem to work for OSD.

Are we missing something?

Thks in advance and don't hesitate if you have any questions.

Hi,

Have you checked the Clientlocation.log and Locationservices.log on the client? Anything helpful?

after setting the CCMHTTPSSTATE to 31 in the task sequence, I still see the options=63 in the locationservices.log. Why doesn't it work?

Client Location says that its MP is the correct one (which is only set for local Intranet clients)

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply. A similar thread indicates there is a bug in SP1 that the Configuration Manager in the Control Panel Clients do not always show the correct Connection Type.

I'm not sure if this is fixed by R2. Please check if you can see the following lines in LocationServices.log. If you do not see such entries, your client should be INTRANET connected.

Refreshing the Management Point List for site XXX
LSGetLookupMP: Client is on Internet - Using XXX MP as lookup MP.
Attempting to retrieve site information from lookup MP(s) via HTTPS
LSGetManagementPointsForSiteFromManagementPoint: Client is on Internet, skipping Intranet MP list request.
LSGetManagementPointsForSite: Workgroup client is Internet enabled - XXX MP will be used to get other XXX MPs.
LSUpdateInternetManagementPoints
Internet Management Points from assigned MP:
Name: 'publicsccm.domain.com' HTTPS: 'Y' ForestTrust: 'N'
LSUpdateInternetManagementPoints: Successfully refreshed internet MPs from internet MP.

This doesn't solve my main issue as I can't have software updates installed via the OSD process unless I enable 'Connect to Intranet/Internet clients'
